They are trying to sell the Assembly Hall in Bessemer AL.

I asked an Oldtime Elder buddy of mine in that congregation about this (just wanted to confirm this), he put his head down and said "it is all true".
2 Elders called the Branch for direction, they were told to leave it alone for now unless they start encouraging others to partake.

A farce elder here
by His Excellency injust to share a little about me:.
i was recently appointed an elder, about 6 months ago now, and that is exactly two years after my awakenning, but funny that the appointment came also about 2 years after i had completely lost all faith in god and had been leading a full time anti-jw life .
makes you wonder the role of the holy spirit in the entire nomination or appointment process.. .

Isn't this whole site about our own individuality? Let the man speak and express himself in his own way.
I look at myself and the damage I have caused to others lives because of my JW Elder training. This site has opened my heart and I have many regets to how I have behaved to fellow believers because they were not doing what I was doing. I lurked on this site for 2 years before I joined and I am still going through the de-programing process. it does not happen overnite.
One BIG CHANGE NOW FOR ME is that I care for people. I have not donated money to the BORG in 8 months now, yet I am using my hard earned money to help those less fortunate than me, especially the Fatherless children. I am giving away more money now than I have in my whole life in the Watchtower!

Congregation Contributions
by nolongerconfused indo you guys remember when the congregation's monthly contribution report was read out loud in the service meeting?
obviously, they don't do that anymore... does anyone here know why exactly they stopped reading the report publicly?.
seems fishy to me.

I am currently the Account Servant for our Hall. As mentioned earlier, the Accounts Report is to be read the 2nd Service Meeting each month. A copy stays in the file and another copy is given to the COBE for him to give it out to the Brother with the 1st part to read it outloud, then post it on the info board.
Someone is not doing their job, ask the COBE.
